Magnitude-6 earthquake occurs off Taiwan

Taipei - An earthquake measuring 6 on the Richter scale occurred off north-east Taiwan early Monday morning, but there were no reports of casualties.
The quake struck at 0:59 am Monday (1659 GMT Sunday), with its epicentre 95.7 kilometres north-east of Ilan on the north-eastern tip of the island, 20.9 kilometres under the seabed, the Seismological Observation Centre said.
