Jun 30, 2008, 6:11 GMT
Phnom Penh - Three foreign nationals have been arrested in Cambodia on charges of possessing, consuming and intent to sell drugs, an anti-drug squad official said Monday.
Taiwanese-American Victor Chao, 55, Pakistani national Sha Enahned Khan, 50, and Briton Steven Bushel, 48, were allegedly caught in possession of nearly half a kilo of methamphetamines and cocaine in a Friday night raid on a hotel and have been remanded in custody.
At least one Cambodian, Ros Khean, was also detained.
'There will be further raids. We are cracking down hard on people who provide illegal drugs,' secretary-general of the National Authority to Combat Drugs, Lou Ramin, said by telephone.
Police said the men face life sentences if convicted.
