Japanese foreign minister in Seoul for talks
Feb 10, 2009, 14:32 GMT
Seoul - Japanese Foreign Minister Hirofumi Nakasone arrived Tuesday evening in Seoul for talks with his South Korean counterpart, Yu Myung, expected to focus on North Korea's nuclear activities.
The two ministers will be meeting on Wednesday to continue the Seoul-Tokyo consultations on the best policy response to Pyongyang's nuclear activities, following on last month's meeting between South Korean President Lee Myung Bak and Japanese Premier Taro Aso.
The two sides also aim to cooperate in the reconstruction efforts in Afghanistan. Other issues include building up bilateral relations and cooperating more strongly to help overcome the world economic crisis, officials said.
