Beijing - China on Thursday accused the United States of displaying a 'Cold War mentality' in a new Pentagon military report and said it had lodged a formal protest with US officials.

'The report issued by the United States continues to play out the theory of China's military threat, severely distorts facts and interferes with China's internal affairs,' Foreign Affairs Ministry spokesman Qin Gang said of the document, which pointed to 'much uncertainty' raised by China's military build-up.

'We urge the US side to respect the fundamental facts and drop its Cold War mentality and bias ... [so as] not to further damage Sino-US relations,' Qin told reporters.

'China has always followed the path of peaceful development and pursues a national defence policy which is defensive in nature,' he said.

The Pentagon's annual report to Congress on Wednesday said China was rapidly upgrading its capability to conduct nuclear, cyber- and space warfare.

It said the Chinese military build-up poses troubling questions because Beijing has not clarified its intentions and does not publicly reveal all of its defence spending.

'Much uncertainty surrounds China's future course, particularly regarding how its expanding military power might be used,' the report said.

China's Foreign Affairs Ministry on Thursday also criticized a US congressional resolution marking the 30th anniversary of the Taiwan Relations Act, under which the United States pledged to defend the island that China's ruling Communist Party still regards as a breakaway province.

Since Washington switched its formal diplomatic recognition from Taiwan to the People's Republic of China in 1979, the act has required the United States to help Taiwan to defend itself although Washington would not necessarily intervene if China attacked the island.

China practically owns the US, thanks to the reckless spending of the treasonous demonrat beaurocraps, who do the bidding of the biassed MSM.
Even if it takes a 'hot' war, let's give them chinkoronis a respect lesson and show them that we are still the big BOSS. Lets kick the UN out of the US before they take over, or before those libnazi idiots can protest defending the country against the blatent aggression by China upon our national sovereignty. This is just the beginning of what we can do to re-claim the country from foreign invaders.
And it don't make me wrong to say it.

Indeed, unlike the US military power usage is too well known.

Does US fear it may see in China its own image in making?

If yes, its fear may be understandable.

Now the idiots espouse war with China?Mar 26th, 2009 - 23:41:43

Obama has his work cut out for him; in moving from the 'Axis of Evil' attitude of the Bush regime (which left us with Pakistan and Afghanistan as the REAL PROBLEMS) to instead talk to those who pose a threat. China would much rather trade with us than fight with us. Their investment on Treasuries, and sales of goods to the U.S., pay off more for them than sabre-rattling.

(Excerpt from links provided)

“We have advocated time and again for more dialogue and transparency in our dealings with the Chinese government and military, all in an effort to reduce suspicions on both sides,” said Geoff Morrell, the Pentagon press secretary. He said the report should be read as calling “for deeper, broader, more high-level contacts with the Chinese.”

Note today's story on the Taliban (below) as an example of how saying, 'Bush left us safer' is an idiot's way of excusing incompetence in high office.

Pakistani and Afghan Taliban Unify in Face of U.S. Influx

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan — After agreeing to bury their differences and unite forces, Taliban leaders based in Pakistan have closed ranks with their Afghan comrades to ready a new offensive in Afghanistan as the United States prepares to send 17,000 more troops there this year. In interviews, several Taliban fighters based in the border region said preparations for the anticipated influx of American troops were already being made. A number of new, younger commanders have been preparing to step up a campaign of roadside bombings and suicide attacks to greet the Americans, the fighters said.

The refortified alliance was forged after the reclusive Afghan Taliban leader, Mullah Muhammad Omar, sent emissaries to persuade Pakistani Taliban leaders to join forces and turn their attention to Afghanistan, Pakistani officials and Taliban members said.

China has a million-man army:

Chinese military capabilities have increased tremendously. People's Liberation Army officials have invested in the acquisition of advanced foreign weapons, and they have fueled hothouse growth in domestic defense industries. The Chinese military also has poured money into research and development. On top of this, there is a far-reaching organizational and doctrinal reform of the People's Liberation Army.

'China's ability to sustain military power at a distance remains limited, but its armed forces continue to develop and field disruptive military technologies, including those for anti-access/area-denial, as well as for nuclear, space and cyber warfare, that are changing regional military balances and that have implications beyond the Asia-Pacific region,' the report says.

China continues to put military pressure on Taiwan. 'China's armed forces are rapidly developing coercive capabilities for the purpose of deterring Taiwan's pursuit of de jure independence,' the report says. More advanced missiles, more equipment and better-trained troops have deployed to the military regions opposite the island. The military balance in the region continues to shift in Beijing's favor, the report says, and Taiwan no longer enjoys 'air dominance' over the Taiwan Straits.

WASHINGTON — China is seeking technology and weapons to disrupt the traditional advantages of American forces, and secrecy surrounding its military creates the potential for miscalculation on both sides, according to a Pentagon study released Wednesday. The annual report from the Defense Department to Congress, “Military Power of the People’s Republic of China 2009,” catalogs efforts by China to supply its armed forces with weapons that can be used to intimidate and attack Taiwan and blunt the superiority of American naval and air power, at least near its territory.

LOOK!
We are the country chosen by god to rule the world.
Our currency is the global currency and everybody better buy all that we print and pay dearly for it as we keep spending even more and more!
Or else if they don't buy we will blow them all up!
And remember there is only one way, THE AMERICAN WAY!
