Wellington - A 13-year-old New Zealand boy was recovering from a coma in hospital Monday after drinking an entire 700-millilitre bottle of the German liqueur Jagermeister in 30 minutes, according to news reports.
The boy was found in an alcohol-induced coma at a snowsports junior training camp in the South Island lake resort of Wanaka on Saturday night.
He had drunk the bottle of 35-per-cent proof liqueur, reportedly stolen from a bar by another teenager, in what was believed to be a peer-pressure drinking incident, the Otago Daily Times reported.
It said doctors expected the boy to recover.
