Manila - A 68-year-old German man was stabbed to death by an unidentified attacker at his residence in the central Philippines, a police report said Friday.
Herman Kruse was watching television with his Filipino wife at their house in Daan Bantayan town in Cebu province, 585 kilometres south of Manila, when the attack occurred late Wednesday.
'The victim and his Filipino wife were watching TV at their house when they noticed that their dog was continuously barking, prompting the victim to go outside and investigate,' the report said.
The attacker stabbed Kruse in the stomach as soon as he opened the door, it added.
Investigators said the attacker fled after the stabbing.
Kruse died while being treated at a nearby hospital.
