Australia's Rudd sets agenda for Asia/Europe trip
Jul 3, 2009, 8:02 GMT
Sydney - Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd said Friday that the crucial Copenhagen talks on climate change in December would feature heavily in a trip to Malaysia and Europe.
Rudd kicks off his six-day trip Monday in Kuala Lumpur, the Malaysian capital.
He journeys on to Berlin for a meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and to Zurich for talks with world soccer body FIFA chief Sepp Blatter.
Before returning at the end of the week, Rudd will spend two days in Italy during which he will meet Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi and visit the Vatican for an audience with Pope Benedict XVI.
The former diplomat will travel to the earthquake-ravaged town of L'Aquila for a meeting of the 17-nation Major Economies Forum.
