More than 300 injured quake in south-west China

Beijing - An earthquake with a magnitude on the Richter scale of 6.0 struck overnight in south-western China, with an initial casualty toll of 336 injured included 56 people in serious condition, China Daily reported early Friday on its website.
The quake struck in Yunnan province at a depth of 10 kilometres below the ground and damaged more than 2,700 homes, according to the report. Several aftershocks followed.
Civil defence workers and the army were mobilized to assist in rescue and recovery efforts, and relief supplies are being sent to the affect region.
