UN sanctions against North Korean companies, individuals
Jul 16, 2009, 17:48 GMT
New York - A United Nations Security Council panel on Thursday named for the first time five companies and five North Koreans to be subject to UN sanctions because of their links to Pyongyang's nuclear and ballistic missile activities.
The companies include one from Hong Kong and four from North Korea. Those companies and the five individuals named will have their assets frozen by UN members.
North Korea exploded a nuclear device on May 25 and test-fired a series of missiles, which were condemned by the international community.
