Gloves off in unseasonable Australian winter
Sep 1, 2009, 0:56 GMT
Sydney - Australia has had its warmest winter on record, with electric blankets lying idle and coats kept in the cupboard.
The Bureau of Meteorology said Tuesday the record was not yet official, but with some town topping temperatures from the southern hemisphere during the mid-summer months of January and February there was confidence that 2009 would be a stand out.
Last week Brisbane had its warmest winter day ever, with a temperature above 35 degrees.
