New Zealand police seek 65 tons of stolen fertiliser

Wellington - New Zealand police said Friday they were investigating the theft of 65 tons of fertiliser, missing from a manufacturer's store in the North Island township of Marton.
Police said it would have taken at least two large trucks to steal the product, worth 38,000 New Zealand dollars (27,000 US dollars), from the Ballance Agri-Nutrients' store, which is 10 kilometres off the main North Island highway, during the early hours of Wednesday.
They asked anyone who is offered cheap superphosphate, which is widely used on New Zealand farms, to contact them.
