Dec 15, 2009, 11:53 GMT
Hong Kong - Police in Hong Kong on Monday stepped up the hunt for an acid attacker who is believed to have struck four times in the city over the last year.
A spokesman appealed for public help after the culprit or culprits struck again at the weekend in a busy shopping area injuring six people.
Two bottles containing a corrosive substance were hurled from a five-storey building on to a pedestrian area in the city's Causeway Bay area late Saturday.
Six people required hospital treatment after being burnt by the substance.
Police are investigating whether the attack is linked to three attacks in Mongkok in which a total of 101 people were injured.
There has been a total of seven acid-related attacks in Hong Kong over the past year.
Police are now offering a reward of almost 40,000 US dollars to anyone who can help capture the culprit.
