Thai king, 82, returns to hospital one day after leaving

Bangkok - Thailand's King Bhumibol Adulyadej returned to hospital just one day after being discharged to the royal residence in Bangkok, local media reported Monday.
King Bhumibol, 82, left hospital Saturday after a stay of five and a half months, but returned early Sunday. Neither the palace nor the government issued any statement about his condition.
The world's longest-reigning monarch was first admitted to hospital on September 19 for respiratory problems, fatigue and fever.
His lengthy hospital stay sparked stock market jitters in November on rumours about his deteriorating health, which were dismissed when the king made three public appearances.
The most recent was on his December 5 birthday, when the king left Siriraj Hospital to preside over a formal ceremony in an audience attended by the royal family, the cabinet, members of parliament and other leading figures in Thai society.
The ceremony lasted less than an hour, after which the king was whisked back to hospital.
