Apr 23, 2010, 16:18 GMT
Taipei - Taiwan on Friday donated 1 million US dollars to assist in the re-building of north-west China's Qinghai Province, which was recently devastated by an earthquake.
The Taiwanese government said the donation is an expression of the concern felt by Taiwan's people.
'We are willing to provide more assistance, depending on the needs,' the cabinet said in a statement.
Taiwan's Red Cross had previously donated 100,000 US dollars and sent a medical team to Qinghai Province.
The 7.1-magnitude quake struck the province's Yushu County on April 14. As of late Thursday, it had left 2,287 people dead and 12,135 injured, with another 80 people still missing.
