Indonesian maid jailed for threatening to kill employer's son
May 17, 2010, 9:35 GMT
Singapore - A Singapore court on Monday sentenced an Indonesian maid to two years in jail for threatening to kill her employer's baby, a media report said.
Feeling homesick, the helper, identified only as Nurhasanah, 29, pressed a pair of scissors against the eight-month-old boy on November 10 and said she would kill the baby if her employer refused to send her home.
The baby's mother and the maid, who covered the boy with a jacket, took a taxi to the airport, the online edition of Straits Times newspaper reported.
After the maid got a plane ticket and her passport in exchange for the baby, police officers arrested her shortly before she could get on board her flight home, the report said.
