Malaysia arrests suspected Islamic militants

Kuala Lumpur - Malaysian officials have arrested three suspected Islamic militants believed to have links with radical Indonesian cleric Abu Bakar Ba'asyir, news reports said Thursday.
The trio - two Malaysians and an Indonesian - were detained Wednesday in two different states, national police chief Musa Hassan said.
The suspects, aged between 34 and 70, were detained under a law that allows indefinite detention without trial.
'All three were arrested under the Internal Security Act as we believe they are involved in activities detrimental to the security of the country,' Musa was quoted as saying by the Star newspaper.
Their arrests followed Monday's arrest of Abu Bakar in Indonesia, who is alleged to be linked to international militant group al-Qaeda, for suspected involvement in the funding and setting up of a terror training camp in Indonesia's Aceh province.
