Fickle partygoer's kiss for policeman turns to headbutt on arrest
Sep 27, 2010, 5:30 GMT
Wellington - A man who gave a policeman a big kiss on the face when offered a lift home from an out-of-control party turned nasty after being arrested for offensive behaviour and tried to headbutt the officer, a newspaper reported Monday.
The suspect also kicked him in the shins and tried to headbutt another officer Saturday night at the Blenheim police station, where he attacked a transparent plastic screen at a counter, the Marlborough Express reported.
The unemployed man, 40, was charged in the South Island city with offensive behaviour, assaulting police, resisting arrest and possessing cannabis.
