Hong Kong police investigate "nude" video of Olympic diver
Nov 25, 2010, 3:11 GMT
Hong Kong - Police in Hong Kong are investigating an internet video of a female Olympic diver shot with an infrared camera that makes her appear naked, a news report said Thursday.
Police were called in after complaints about the video clips of Chinese gold medal winner Guo Jingjing, 29, shot during the 2008 Beijing Olympics and circulated online, the Hong Kong Standard said.
The video was shot using an infrared camera which shows Guo's body shape beneath the swimming costume and was first circulated on a Japanese porn site, according to the newspaper.
The clip is believed to be one of about 20 of male and female divers from different countries taken during practice sessions at the Beijing Olympics and then posted online.
Legislators called at a meeting Wednesday for a ban on infrared cameras, according to the Standard.
However, government official Stephen Lam said a ban was unlikely police might not be able to take action over the Guo video as it was believed to have been uploaded outside Hong Kong.
