Jan 27, 2011, 0:52 GMT
Sydney - US singer Jimmy Buffett was released Thursday from a Sydney hospital after treatment for a head injury suffered when the 64-year-old fell from the stage during an encore at his final Australian concert.
He was hospitalized Wednesday.
'He had a head injury, and he lost consciousness,' St Vincent's Hospital surgeon Gordian Fulde told local television. 'Scans show that he's OK.'
Fulde, who attended the concert, said Buffett had misjudged the perimeter of the stage
'He really took a very nasty tumble,' Fulde said. 'He just didn't see the drop in front of the stage. I heard the crack, and I thought, 'This guy has broken his neck.''
