Mar 24, 2011, 5:29 GMT
Manila - A female radio broadcaster was killed Thursday in the Philippine capital in the latest attack against journalists, a police spokesman said.
Maria Len Flores Somera, who hosted a programme on radio station DZME, was shot in the back of the neck by an unidentified gunman in Metropolitan Manila's suburban Malabon City.
Chief Superintendent Agrimero Cruz said the victim died while being treated at a nearby hospital.
Cruz said she was on the way to work when the gunman attacked her on Solonian Street in the village of Maysilo.
Police investigators were still determining the motive behind the killing.
On January 24, Gerry Ortega, a radio broadcaster in the western province of Palawan, was shot dead by a gunman who police immediately arrested.
