Apr 27, 2011, 9:44 GMT
Kuala Lumpur - Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao arrived in Malaysia Wednesday on a two-day visit aimed at strengthening ties.
Wen, who arrived with an 118-member delegation of government and corporate officials, is scheduled to discuss trade and other international issues with his Malaysian counterpart Najib Razak on Thursday. The Chinese premier is also scheduled to meet former prime ministers Mahathir Mohamad and his successor Abdullah Ahmad Badawi later Thursday, before addressing a business forum in the capital Kuala Lumpur.
Wen and his delegation are due to depart for Indonesia late Thursday, said officials.
Malaysia is China's biggest trading partner in South-East Asia, with two-way trade totalling 45.66 billion dollars last year, the Foreign Ministry said.
