May 31, 2011, 0:35 GMT
Sydney - The deaths of two Australian soldiers in Afghanistan brings to 26 the number killed since the first deployment in 2001, Defence Force chief Angus Houston said Tuesday.
One of the soldiers killed Monday was shot by an Afghan soldier while the pair were on guard duty together. The other died when the Chinook helicopter he was piloting crashed.
Australia has around 1,500 soldiers serving in Afghanistan.
