The flying Beetle: Aussies lob car 77 metres

Sydney - Australia claimed the world record for car-flinging Friday after a VW Beetle was catapulted 76.94 metres at a Sydney speedway track.
The stunt, organized by Nova radio station, required weeks of preparation and the construction of a 20-ton catapult.
'So many people got involved in this just for the sake of throwing a car and we still don't know why we did it,' a Nova radio spokesman said.
