Light plane crashes into ferris wheel in Australia
Oct 1, 2011, 1:25 GMT
Sydney - There were no injuries Saturday when an ultra-light plane crashed into a ferris wheel erected at the end of a grass airstrip for a country fair at Taree on Australia's east coast.
Police told national broadcaster ABC that the plane failed to clear the ferris wheel on take-off.
The pilot and passenger of the Cheetah S200 had a lucky escape as their craft wedged in the structure of the fairground ride.
A boy and a girl were stranded aboard the ferris wheel because it was safest for them to stay there until the ultra-light could be removed.
