Man killed in runway accident at Indonesian airport
Oct 16, 2011, 6:29 GMT
Jakarta - An alleged airport trespasser was killed when his head was hit by the propeller of a small plane in Indonesia's South Sulawesi province, media reports said Sunday.
The Cessna plane was about to take off at the Sultan Hasanuddin airport in the provincial capital Makassar when it hit the 28-year-old man on Saturday, The Jakarta Post newspaper reported.
'We are still investigating how the victim infiltrated the airport as security is normally tight and the airport is surrounded by a fence,' airport official Rachman Syafrie was quoted as saying by the Post.
The face of the victim, who worked as a farmer, was unrecognisable, the Post said.
