Qantas plane makes emergency landing on Lord Howe Island

Sydney - A Qantas Airways Dash 8 turboprop with 23 passengers on board made an emergency landing on Lord Howe Island on Wednesday after the pilot shut down one of its two engines following an 'oil pressure issue.'
Qantas said in a statement that flight QF2260 from Sydney to Lord Howe Island, in the Tasman Sea between Australia and New Zealand, landed safely and there were no injuries.
Last week, an Airlines Papua New Guinea Dash 8 came down 20 kilometres short of Medang airport killing 28 people. It was on a scheduled flight from Lae, Papua New Guinea's second biggest city.
