Kuala Lumpur - Four Malaysian boys, aged 10 to 13, were arrested for allegedly raping a 7-year-old girl after one of them bragged about it in school, media reports said Monday.
The girl was playing near her house October 8 when the boys lured her into following them to a hut about 2 kilometres from her home in Kulim town in the northern state of Kedah, the New Straits Times reported. They were accused of assaulting her there.
The incident came to light October 13 when one of the boys allegedly bragged about the incident to his classmates and word got to teachers who informed the girl's parents.
The same day, police detained the four boys, who were released after questioning.
Assistant Commissioner Zakaria Ahmad, chief of Kedah state's Criminal Investigation Department, told The Star daily, that the investigation was ongoing.
The daily said a medical examination confirmed the girl was raped.
