Australian taxi driver pays high price for jeans
Dec 14, 2011, 10:02 GMT
Sydney - An Australian taxi driver was Wednesday ordered by an Adelaide court to pay 1,415 Australian dollars (1,443 US dollars) for defying his employer and wearing jeans to work.
Shahram Forozandeh, 44, was prosecuted for not wearing the uniform required by a government Transport Department regulation after a routine check at a taxi rank in January.
'Unfair and untrue as well. It was all set up,' Forozandeh told national broadcaster ABC outside the court. 'Once you stand up for your principles that's what they don't like, the management.'
