Real nativity scene under Australian Christmas tree
Dec 25, 2011, 6:28 GMT
Sydney - A paramedic wearing antlers delivered a baby girl under a Christmas tree Sunday to a woman who had gone into labour while wrapping presents, news reports said Sunday.
The nativity scene in Hobart, Tasmania was a wonderful way to bring in Christmas, Bruce Connor from the Tasmanian Ambulance Service told national broadcaster ABC.
'I would assume the patient was in labour to a point where delivery was imminent and rather than being able to move to the ambulance to proceed to hospital, they had to deliver the baby at the house,' he said.
'To deliver one at 12:06 am on Christmas Day is a special event for us, especially under the Christmas tree at home, and I believe that the intensive-care paramedic was wearing a pair of antlers at the time.'
