Sydney-to-Hobart yacht race protest fails

Sydney - Investec Loyal was confirmed as the winner of the Sydney-to-Hobart yacht race Thursday after an international jury decided it did not break the rules by soliciting information on the progress of another boat.
Investec Loyal, runner up last year, pipped fellow Australian Wild Oats XI in one of the closest-ever finishes in the 628-nautical-mile (1,160-kilometre) race Wednesday.
