Bangkok - Thailand's death toll from road accidents during the first three days of the New Year holidays has reached 165, with 1,782 injuries, the government announced Sunday.
The Road Safety Centre reported 1,605 accidents from Thursday through Saturday, with 650 on New Year's Eve alone claiming 71 lives.
The centre announces a daily tally of road deaths during the Western New Year holiday, which ends Tuesday, and the traditional Thai Buddhist New Year celebration in April.
