Manila - Fifteen people were rescued Thursday from a landslide that struck a mining village in the southern Philippines, a military spokesman said.
An undetermined number of people were still missing in the landslide in Pantukan town in Compostella Valley province, 930 kilometres south of Manila, Colonel Leopoldo Galon said.
Initial reports said up to 100 could still be buried under the mud and boulders.
'Miners and army personnel are now conducting search and rescue operations while medical and rescue teams from the province and municipality are on their way,' Galon said.
