Jan 6, 2012, 4:30 GMT
Hanoi - Four policemen and two soldiers were injured trying to evict a farmer in north Vietnam for not paying his land tax, news reports said Friday.
Two policemen were knocked unconscious and injured by a home-made bomb as they approached the home of Dao Van Vuon, 41, on Thursday, the Viet Nam News reported.
The eviction team came under gunfire when it reached the house, leaving the police chief of Tien Lang district, Pham Van Mai, injured along with another policemen and two soldiers.
Vuon, the former tenant of the land and suspected gunman, escaped along with several accomplices, the report said.
Two of the injured security forces personnel were being treated in hospital in Hanoi.
Vuon rented the land for fish farming and growing orchids, but had not paid his rental tax for several months, authorities were quoted as saying.
