Weight Watchers' Australian website goes fat-free

Sydney - Chubby Australians were Saturday fighting to put 'fat' back on the website of the local unit of US-based global dieting behemoth Weight Watchers International Inc.
Members have besieged the firm's online message board mocking a decision to block 'fat' because the word could offend the overweight.
'I can't for the life of me see the reasoning behind censoring f@t,' a post from girlwithgoals said. 'If f@t is a dirty word, a social no; it seems to me little wonder there is an obesity epidemic.'
A post from Gen1967 said the Weight Watchers's switchboard explained that fat was banned because it could be a derogatory term.
'Makes it even more laughable that we can say fatty, fatto etc,' the post read.
Writing to Brisbane's Courier Mail newspaper, Nan said: 'Fat is a perfectly acceptable food. We need to eat some and have some to be healthy. Shall we just reverse the letters and call it Taf? Rhymes with laugh.'
But the company did receive some support. Also writing to the Courier Mail, ACB said 'it's just common sense that you don't use that word if it might cause hurt.'
Weight Watchers could not be reached for comment.
