LEAD: Qantas passengers injured by turbulence
Jan 8, 2012, 9:05 GMT
Sydney - Australia's Qantas Airways said Sunday that turbulence aboard a flight from London to Sydney injured seven passengers and delayed Flight QF32 for 24 hours.
The Airbus A380 hit storms over India on Saturday and was delayed in Singapore all day while the passengers were treated for cuts and bruises. None was seriously injured.
It was scheduled to stop in Singapore for refueling.
'They all rejoined the flight, except one passenger who opted to take an alternative flight to Perth because that was his final destination,' a Qantas spokeswoman said.
The aircraft, which was carrying 450 passengers, was examined by engineers in Singapore and cleared to fly on to Sydney.
