Wiggles re-turn a new Page
Jan 18, 2012, 2:56 GMT
Sydney - Children's entertainment supergroup the Wiggles is back to its original foursome after Greg Page pulled on his yellow shirt and muscled aside stand-in Sam Moran.
Page, off sick for the past five years, said Wednesday that he was well enough to reclaim his place in the Big Red Car.
'This takes me full circle,' Page, 39, said. 'I'm feeling great and looking forward to doing what I love.'
Moran, 33, said he was looking forward to 'new opportunities' and spending more time with his wife and family.
Page was sidelined with orthostatic intolerance, a rare condition in which the heart does not pump enough blood around the body.
Moran took over his place in an Australian outfit that has sold 17 million videos and 5 million CDs over a 20-year career.
In 2003, they eclipsed a record set by Bruce Springsteen by playing 12 consecutive sold-out shows at New York's Madison Square Garden.
Not everyone is delighted that Page is back alongside Purple Wiggle Jeff Fatt, Blue Wiggle Anthony Field and Red Wiggle Murray Cook.
'I'm sorry, but I don't think this is great news at all,' Katrina Dutton said in a post on the Wiggles internet site. 'All my children have ever known is Sam, and I personally think he is an exceptional artist and an all-round nice bloke.'
She said Page should stay in retirement because 'you should leave a good thing alone.'
