Philippines issues tsunami alert after quake

Manila - The Philippine government on Monday issued a tsunami alert in central provinces jolted by a 6.9-magnitude quake.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology urged residents to be on alert against a possible tsunami generated by the quake.
