Hanoi - A man was arrested for trying to take a newborn baby from a hospital in Vietnam after mistaking him for his own son because he was drunk, police said Monday.
The man, who was recently divorced, got drunk after learning that his ex wife had given birth and went to a hospital in the Mekong Delta region to find her.
Upon entering the ward, he mistook a stranger for his wife, swore at her and tried to take her baby. The woman screamed and hospital staff apprehended the man.
He was released Monday morning after paying a fine.
