Denpasar, Indonesia - Indonesian police on Sunday killed five suspected militants on the resort island of Bali, a police spokesman said.
Three of the suspects were killed in a resort bungalow in the Sanur area while the other two were killed in a rented room in Denpasar, said police spokesman Hariadi, who goes by one name.
'They were planning to commit a robbery,' Hariadi said. 'They are linked to terrorism.'
A police statement said the group were planning to rob a money changer and a jewelry shop.
'They were neutralized because they resisted arrest and opened fire,' the statement said.
Indonesian police have arrested hundreds of Islamist militants since the 2002 Bali bombings, which killed 202 people.
