Shell's fourth quarter profits above expectations

The Hague - Anglo-Dutch energy multinational Shell posted fourth quarter earnings at 6.0 billion dollars, up from 5.4 billion a year earlier, in results released in The Hague Thursday.
For the full year 2006, the company reported earnings at 25.4 billion dollars, little changed from the 25.3 billion recorded in 2005.
The fourth quarter results came in above the 5.2 billion dollars expected by analysts.
