Nov 22, 2007, 14:39 GMT
Berlin - Berlin-based solar energy company Solon said Thursday it has won an order to build six solar power plants in south-east Italy over the next three years.
One plant with a capacity of 2.4 megawatts, was scheduled for completion at the end of 2008. The others, each with a 10-megawatt capacity, were due to be finished in the following two years.
All the plants are to be built in Italy's remote south-eastern region of Apulia.
Solon, which employs 650 people and has subsidiaries in the United States, Austria, Italy and Switzerland, did not disclose the value of the order.
