Italian project faces delay, says German turbine maker

Hamburg - If the weather stays bad, two wind parks set for completion in Italy by the end of this month could be delayed, the German wind-turbine maker Nordex said in Hamburg Monday.
But a company spokesman said the company was still committed to its 2007 sales forecast, which included payments for the project.
'If the risk was that great, we would have reduced our forecast,' he said, hours after a newspaper interview had pointed out the delay at the two sites, in Sicily and on Sardinia.
December fog and strong winds have held up construction.
In an interview with the newspaper Financial Times Deutschland on Monday, chief executive Thomas Richterich had said the company's hopes of a 50-per-cent boost in sales this year to 760 to 770 million euros were imperilled by the wait for the weather to improve.
If the two parks were not be ready in time, 50 million euros (73 million dollars) could not be booked to Nordex's 2007 accounts.
Last week Nordex handed over the completed Cadau I windpark on Sardinia.
