Stock plunge halts trading in Romania

Bucharest - Bucharest's stock exchange halted trading Wednesday after its benchmark index plunged by more than 10 per cent.
The Romanian market's BET-C index was down 10.68 per cent from Tuesday when transactions were suspended just over an hour into the trading day.
Bucharest Stock Exchange rules call for a suspension of trading when the index drops by more than 10 per cent, the Mediafax news agency reported.
