Daimler employees quizzed over defective Mercedes cars
Nov 16, 2008, 13:36 GMT
Stuttgart - Employees at a Mercedes-Benz factory in Germany are under investigation for deliberately producing defective cars, prosecutors said Sunday.
Several workers at the Daimler plant in Sindelfingen are suspected of having manipulated the vehicles so that an external repair firm could be called in to fix them, prosecutors said.
The men, who were employed in the quality control department, were reportedly rewarded with expensive gifts and trips for their actions, which cost the carmaker millions of euros.
