Dutch AEX index remains stuck around record low level (1st Lead)

Amsterdam - The main AEX index on the Amsterdam stock exchange remained stuck on Thursday around the level of this year's record low.
After opening at an absolute low of 231.09 points on Thursday, down 2.9 per cent from the previous day's closing, the index dropped to a low of 228.30 points by 11:30 (1030 GMT).
It recovered only slightly to 231.92 points by 1330 GMT.
The previous low of 231.50 points was set in October.
For the second consecutive day, financial and construction companies were hit most.
The share value of steel manufactur Arcelor-Mittal dropped 8.37 per cent, followed by ING Group (down 7.80 per cent) and property investor Corio (down 6.52 per cent).
