Vodafone to cut 500 jobs in Britain

London - Mobile phone giant Vodafone Tuesday announced it is cutting around 500 jobs in its British operation as a cost-cutting measure.
The group said it was looking for cost savings of 1 billion pounds worldwide by spring 2011.
Vodafone employs 10,000 people in Britain, and 70,000 worldwide.
