Dow Chemical seeks cash infusion with new shares

New York - US company Dow Chemical hopes to raise 1.6 billion dollars in cash through the offering of new stock, it said Tuesday.
Of that amount, 1 billion is to be used to pay down the debt from the takeover of competitor Rohm & Haas, the Midland, Michigan-based firm said. The purchase was financed through 9.2 billion dollars in credit.
