Bangkok - Thailand's exports fell 26.1 per cent in April, declining in all markets except South Asia, the Commerce Ministry disclosed Wednesday.
April's exports were valued at 10.4 billion dollars, down 26.1 per cent year-on-year, while imports reached 9.8 billion dollars, down 36.3 per cent, leaving the kingdom with a 600-million-dollar trade surplus.
Thailand's exports during the first four months of 2009 amounted to 44.2 billion dollars, down 21.9 per cent, while imports were 36.5 billion dollars, amounting to a trade surplus of 7.7 billion dollars.
'Exports to every major market were down in April,' Commerce Ministry Permanent Secretary Amporn Kitti-Amporn said.
