Report: Apple boss Jobs had liver transplant
Jun 20, 2009, 5:52 GMT
New York - Steve Jobs, the head of Apple Inc, is recovering from a liver transplant he received about two months ago, the Wall Street Journal reported.
The Apple chief executive had taken a six-month leave of absence in January for treatment of an undisclosed medical condition. He is expected to return to work at the helm of the Mac and i-phone maker by the end of the month.
Jobs, 54, who previously suffered from pancreatic cancer, said he had a hormone imbalance.
Jobs was recovering well, and his doctors were to encourage him to work part-time at first, the paper said. Apple, which had previously come under fire from shareholders for its secrecy regarding Jobs' health, did not comment on the report.
