Report: Vodafone interested in T-Mobile UK purchase
Jun 29, 2009, 6:40 GMT
London - Vodafone, the world's largest mobile phone company by profits, is considering an offer for T-Mobile UK, according to a report in Monday's Financial Times.
The report said Vodafone would also consider a joint venture with the company, the British subsidiary of Germany's T-Mobile.
If such a deal were to go through, Vodafone would have 40 per cent of the British mobile phone market, making it No 1 in that region. However, any deal could still be blocked by competition authorities.
